So the story went: Graham Greene wrote the book (The Quiet American) that I hold in the Continent hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) which you can see behind me. Did some research but couldn’t verify this piece of trivia. But what’s more interesting is this: the book is a bootleg. Yes, it’s an “unlicensed” copy sold near the hotel and a bookstore. I just had to secure one as a souvenir in my recent trip to Vietnam.
