RP still a ‘financially attractive’ BPO destination: Report
The Philippines remains a financially attractive BPO destination, according to a consulting firm. But for how long? I was with ClientLogic Philippine country manager Dan Reyes this morning. He said the Philippine call center industry will really need to move up the “value chain.” The call centers are now employing most of the BPO agents in the country. But we also need to develop other skills needed to support other areas like back-room operations, software development, among others. The BPO or business process outsourcing industry is a big spectrum of outsourcing services. We’re currently the top destination for call centers. But we also need to gear up and start developing non-voice services.
