RP software association opposes open source bill

Here’s some exciting news. The Philippine Software Industry Association, composed of local software development companies, opposed a bill in Congress that will mandate open source software use in government. The group called the bill “myopic” and a “disservice” to Filipinos and the industry.

So apparently the gloves are off, and it’s interesting to find out how the public hearings will proceed from here on.

Bayan Muna Representative Teddy CasiƱo filed this bill this year.

I don’t see any valid reason kung bakit ayaw nila ng open-source. O baka naman di sila magkakapera sa open-source hehehe
