Thanks for mentioning my post, although I am quite sorry that because of it you were inadvertantly criticized. My apologies. Rather than resort to name calling or personal attacks I think it would be more effective to debunk an idea.

hi Jc, i was not trying to pick a fight here and extending the debate over this blog. I know how this issue can drag on, and we will not come to any conclusion because each side or any other side will defend with what they truly believe. If you’ve noticed, I was merely quoting somebody on the Internet. Whatever opinion I may have formed out of this posting is not a “pussy-footing ambivalent stance,” as you put it. It is more of a sober telling of a recent event. Again, if we resort to name calling, and yes I know Edward Burkes’s famous quote because I’m a journalist and I’m doing something to fight evil in my own country. If we resort to such word war, we will never come to a conclusion. In any case, MLQ is a good friend and colleague (we belong to the same paper), and I admire his courage to speak his mind (and reply) on Justice Cruz’s column. That is what democracy is all about. We’re all entitled to our own opinions.

I think your rudimentary level of understanding has made you missed the point entirely. MLQ’s fight is not another intolerant brickbat against Cruz but rather a legitimate fight for tolerance and understanding, and as such, all forms of bigotry and homophobia WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. I assume you must have been to college for if not, you might have not yet heard Edward Burkes famous quote, “Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.” And your pussy-footing ambivalent stance says it all.
