How many MP3 players do you own?

Yesterday, Philips launched several digital music players in the Philippines to compete not against Apple but Chinese brands.

Admittedly, when we talk about MP3 players we often think of Apple’s iPod. iPod has become synonymous to digital music players for some people. So it is good to see more players coming in the local market, where you can find an increasing number of Chinese brands in retail stores, including one shop sellingĀ  anything from rewritable CDs to cheap MP3 players and digital recorders, etc.

The recent Philips Go Gear digital music players are priced to attract young, tech-savvy consumers who can afford to buy a mobile phone. One flyer showed that prices range from P1,500+ to P5,700+. Not bad.

Question now is, how much are you willing to spend for a branded MP3 player that is not Apple?
