About Cyberbaguioboy
Filipino information technology journalist Erwin Oliva is a reporter for online Philippine news website INQUIRER.net who also blogs. Reasons for blogging: it keeps him sane.
He has been covering the Philippine technology scene since 1998, writing news, features, and special reports. Prior to this, he was a medical reporter for a local magazine.
A Department of Science and Technology Media awardee (for online journalism) from 2002 to 2004, he was eventually elevated to the Hall of Fame (which means he could no longer win this award
)
He also finished his Graduate studies in Journalism at the Asian Center for Journalism in Ateneo de Manila University. He is an alumni of UP Baguio, and is currently co-moderator of Sayote Republic.
If not online, he spends time with his family. He loves to travel, eat, and read books and guitar magazines.
He will always miss the old Baguio when pine trees, “runo” (a type of grass used to create homes) and “marapait” or sunflower abound. He loves nature and road trips, instead of malls.
He dreams of becoming a rock star. Currently, he jams with some friends.
His stories are published everyday at INQUIRER.net’s Infotech section.
And, when he is not writing:
